Denzel Dumfries has been regularly linked with a move to Manchester United since Erik ten Hag became manager in 2022.

I can only presume it goes beyond the Dutch connection as Dumfries gets linked to United every time the transfer window opens.

United need new full-backs but it remains to be seen if we will spend big on a right-back given the improvements Diogo Dalot has made as a player. It may be a different story on the left because Luke Shaw’s track record with injuries is a concern.

According to reports in Italy, as per Tuttosport, Inter Milan right-back Denzel Dumfries would be ‘interested’ in a switch to United this summer.

A different report on Tuesday stated that the Netherlands international’s preference is to move to the Premier League.

Inter Milan set asking price for Manchester United target

Serie A giants Inter Milan have reportedly named their price for Dumfries.

The Nerazzurri will be trying to maintain their core for next season, although it is believed the Dutchman could be the exception.

Dumfries, 28, has a deal with Inter running until 2025 and there is still no sign of an extension on the horizon.

The former PSV Eindhoven star could be sold for €20 million, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport (H/t FCInterNews).

Inter don’t want to risk losing the right-back for free a year later. He has been there since 2021, after arriving as a replacement for Achraf Hakimi who joined Parsi Saint-Germain at the time.

It remains to be seen if United will formalise their interest in Dumfries by making an official offer to Inter this summer. Only time will tell.
