Juventus are ready to approach Manchester United ace Donny van de Beek over a January move

According to Corriere Dello Sport (h/t ESPN), Juventus are ready to pull off a deal for Manchester United star Donny van de Beek in January.

The 24-year-old ace was signed from AFC Ajax last summer for £35million, but so far, things have not panned out the way the Dutchman would have wanted it to.

Van de Beek only managed four Premier League starts last season and racked up lesser than 1500 minutes across the season. Not a lot has changed since then, as the Dutch international remains low in the pecking order.

The likes of Paul Pogba, Bruno Fernandes, Scott McTominay, Nemanja Matic, and Fred have been preferred above him in the midfield line, and it remains to be seen whether any of that will change in the near future.

Thus, Juventus are now planning to make an approach to get the midfielder into their ranks in January itself as they are keen on adding some quality in the centre of the pitch.

While the Turin outfit could try to orchestrate a deal for the 24-year-old, there is no saying what United’s decision will be on the same. This is because the Dutchman was on the cusp of joining Everton earlier this summer, but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer apparently blocked the move as he wanted to keep him at Old Trafford.

Moreover, the Red Devils are still competing in three competitions this season, and should they manage to get into the knockout stages of the UEFA Champions League, squad depth will be crucial to manage the workload of the domestic league and the European competition.

Thus, while the Serie A club could try and lure the player in January, United will have the final say on the midfielder’s future.
