Juventus suffered their first home league defeat of the season in Saturday’s clash with Fiorentina. Verónica Boquete required just seven minutes to open the scoring. The experienced forward collected the just outside the six-yard box and shifted it onto her left foot before she drilled it into the top corner. Boquete went on to seal all three points with a stunning free-kick in the 76th minute.

Positioned just outside the box on the left flank, Boquete decided to try her luck despite being faced with a narrow-angle. The Spaniard whipped the ball over the wall and Pauline Peyraud-Magnin before seeing her effort fly into the far corner. Boquete’s brace secured Fiorentina their first  Serie A Femminile win since September.

Inter Milan 3-3 AC Milan

Inter missed the chance to take three points out of Juventus’ lead at the top of the table. Marija Milinković tucked the ball home from Annamaria Serturini’s dangerous corner to give Inter the early advantage. An own goal restored parity before Inter retook the lead through Michela Cambiaghi in first-half stoppage time. Serturini grabbed her second assist from another corner, swinging the ball in for Cambiaghi to steer home at the near post.

Unfortunately for Inter, a second own goal brought Milan back onto level terms in the 65th minute. The thrilling contest then took another twist when Tessa Wullaert pounced on a goalkeeping error to tap in from close range. But once again, Inter failed to protect their slender lead, conceding to Evelyn Ijeh in the 85th minute, ensuring the derby finished all square.

Poule Salvezza

Sampdoria 0-0 Napoli

Serie A’s bottom two sides had to settle for a point apiece in Saturday’s encounter. Sampdoria mustered two shots on target, while Napoli managed to register three shots on Kathrine Larsen’s goal. However, the contest ultimately demonstrated why Sampdoria and Napoli are the two lowest scorers in the top flight. As a result of the draw, Sampdoria remain bottom of the table with two points separating them from Napoli.

Lazio 0-2 Como

Como celebrated back-to-back wins in Sunday’s away game against Lazio. The first half looked set to end goalless until Miriam Picchi found the all-important breakthrough in the 42nd minute. Sara Cetinja failed in her attempt to push Alia Guagni’s cross over her bar, leaving Picchi with a simple finish when the ball dropped down on the line. Elisa del Estal wrapped up the win with 15 minutes left to play. The substitute calmly slotted the ball home after she latched onto Astrid Gilardi’s long ball forward.
