Roma 2-1 Como

Roma came from behind to claim all three points in Friday’s home clash with Como. Julia Karlernäs pounced on a rebound to give the visitors a 10th-minute lead. Como held on to their narrow advantage until the 59th minute when Lucia Di Guglielmo headed in from Manuela Giugliano’s deep cross. Valentina Giacinti then scored her fourth league goal of the season to complete the turnaround.

The 30-year-old thumped a right-footed shot past Astrid Gilardi after Giugliano managed to hook a deep cross back into the danger zone. Unfortunately for Giugliano, she missed the chance to add to her two assists when she saw her penalty saved by Gilardi. However, Giugliano’s penalty miss was not costly, as Roma saw out the remainder of the contest to clinch all three points.

Sassuolo 2-1 Napoli

Sassuolo extended their unbeaten run to five competitive matches with a narrow victory over Napoli on Saturday. Ex-Napoli forward Gina Chmielinski scored against her former side to give Sassuolo a slender half-time lead. Daniela Sabatino doubled Sassuolo’s advantage just after the hour mark, sending Doris Bačić the wrong way from the penalty spot after Chmielinski had been brought down in the area.

Maja Jelčić managed to pull a goal back for the visitors, setting up a nervy finish at Stadio Enzo Ricci. However, the hosts saw out the remainder of the contest to claim their second league win of the season.

Sampdoria 1-3 Fiorentina

Sampdoria went into the break with a narrow advantage after Tori DellaPeruta opened the scoring in the 28th minute. The striker swept the ball home from close range to round off a slick passing move from the hosts. Fiorentina returned from the half-time interval with greater intent, with Emma Severini netting a stunning strike to pull her side onto level terms.

With momentum in their favour, Fiorentina went on to take the lead through Alexandra Jóhannsdóttir’s 64th-minute effort. The substitute shifted the ball onto her right foot, before she drove a fierce shot past Amanda Tampieri. Veronica Boquete added her name to the scoresheet in stoppage time, wrapping up a successful away outing for Fiorentina. As a result of the victory, Fiorentina have moved into second place in the table, leaving six points behind leaders Juventus.

Juventus 3-2 Lazio

Juventus were made to work for maximum points in Sunday’s clash with Lazio. After playing out a goalless first half, the hosts found the breakthrough in the opening stages of the second period. Sofia Cantore produced a sublime first touch to create the space to fire an unstoppable shot past Sara Cetinja. Ten minutes later, Cristiana Girelli headed in from a corner to double Juventus’ advantage. However, just as the hosts appeared to be in complete control, Clarisse Le Bihan produced a sensational long-range effort to give the visitors a foothold. Noemi Visentin then showcased her composure in front of goal to round Pauline Peyraud-Magnin and slot home the equaliser.  Unfortunately for Lazio, their hard work was undone by Barbara Bonansea’s late intervention. The Italy international took the ball past the onrushing Cetinja, before rolling it into the net to score a 90th-minute winner.

AC Milan 1-1 Inter

AC Milan and Inter faced off at the San Siro for the first time in Serie A Femminile. Inter found the breakthrough on the stroke of half-time when Elisa Bartoli collected a low cross, before she tucked the ball in from close range.

Trailing at the break, Milan produced a swift response in the opening stages of the second period. Nadia Nadim drove the ball past Cecilía Rán Rúnarsdóttir after being teed up by Monica Renzotti. Despite their best efforts, neither side were unable to find a winner, ensuring the derby contest finished honours even. Third-placed Inter are now seven points adrift of Serie A leaders Juventus, while Milan are just one point adrift of the top six.
