Serie A duo Bologna and Torino have enquired about signing Fortuna Düsseldorf defender Jamil Siebert, according to Sky Germany. Due to a release clause, the German youth international would be able to leave the 2. Bundesliga club for a reported €6m fee, which would rise to €9m should F95 earn promotion to the Bundesliga.
The 22-year-old missed the start of the 2024/25 campaign due to a thigh injury but has started every game – but one owing to a one-match suspension – since December. After missing Germany U21’s last two squads, Siebert has worked his way back into Antonio Di Salvo’s plans, and featured against Slovakia U21s in their recent 1-0 win last week.
However, although interest from Italy, Siebert isn’t considering a move at the moment. Born in Düsseldorf, the German central-defender is comfortable in his home city, enjoys a good relationship with head coach Daniel Thioune and wants to achieve promotion with the club he’s been at since the youth academy.
