An insight into the future of veteran defender Sergio Ramos with La Liga outfit Sevilla has today been forthcoming online.

And the info points towards a complicated situation as being in store for both parties.

Ramos, of course, secured a return to Sevilla last summer, rejecting big-money proposals from Saudi Arabia to link back up with his boyhood club.

And though his stint back in Andalusia has since proven a success, the 38-year-old’s continuity into next season cannot be guaranteed.

Ramos signed a one-year deal last September, which is understood to feature terms amounting to just €1 million.

Aware that his reputation as a prominent force in Spanish football has been restored, Ramos, despite his age, is therefore expected to demand considerably improved wages as part of any agreement for the 2024/25 campaign.

And Sevilla, crippled by monetary woes at present, ‘in principle cannot offer Sergio much more money’.

Not only that, but, as per Diario AS, the former Real Madrid standout has made clear that he wants any decision regarding his future set in stone before the expiration of his current terms.

With Sevilla unlikely to be able to commit to as much before setting at least some of their transfer affairs in place, a summer parting of ways between Ramos and the Nervionenses is beginning to look increasingly likely.
