Even at the grand old age of 37, you just can’t keep Sergio Ramos out of the headlines.
The Sevilla defender has made Champions League history tonight after scoring in Sevilla’s final group stage clash with Lens.
He has beaten Roberto Carlos and Gerard Piqué to become the outright defender with the most goals in the competition’s history (17).
And like with everything with Ramos, the feat was achieved with some drama.
Sevilla were awarded a penalty in the 79th minute after Youssef En-Nesyri had been fouled in the box but Ramos saw his initial spot-kick saved by Lens goalkeeper Brice Samba.
However, the penalty then had to be retaken after it was deemed that Samba was off his line meaning the former Real Madrid man had a second opportunity to save his side, which he did …
… with a panenka.
Cue Ramos shushing the crowd before receiving a yellow card for kicking the ball out of Samba’s hands.
All in a night’s work.
