Sergio Ramos makes bold Barcelona claim as former Real Madrid man prepares for first match-up with Sevilla | OneFootball

Two of Spain’s biggest clubs will face off on Friday evening, with Barcelona hosting Sevilla at the Olympic Stadium in Montjuic. The hosts are looking to reclaim top spot in La Liga, having lost it to Catalan rivals Girona on Wednesday.

There’s little doubt that Barcelona are favourites for the match, especially considering their excellent recent form. Sergio Ramos, who is facing the Catalans for the first time in two years, is fully aware of this, and he explained (via Marca) why it would make it all the more sweeter if Sevilla can get a positive result.

“(Barcelona) are favourites in everything – in LaLiga and in the Champions League. For us, that would make a victory against them even more special.

“We’re going to facing off against all of Barcelona. They still have the same players, even though they are playing in another stadium. They have verticality, they are fast on the wing. I’m sure it will be a nice game.”

Not many will dispute that Barcelona are favourites for every match they play, although that remark could raise eyebrows at Ramos’ former club, Real Madrid. Still, not many with care if the 37-year-old can help Sevilla take points off the Catalan side.
