PSG were forced to dig deep and launch a comeback for all three points against struggling Saint-Étienne to give Sergio Ramos a winning debut but there is concern over a late injury to Neymar.

Scorers: Bounaga 22′; Marquinhos 45+2′, 90+1′, Di María 79′

The Brazilian thought he had given PSG an early lead only for a VAR check to rule out the opener for an offside and midway through the half, VAR hurt the visitors again when it overturned an on-field decision to rule out a Denis Bounaga goal on the rebound.

The controversy continued in the moments before the break as Timothée Kolodziejczak saw red for a late tackle on Kylian Mbappé as he tore through on goal and from the resulting free-kick, Marquinhos levelled with a header from Lionel Messi’s delivery.

And they completed the turnaround with 11 minutes remaining when Angel Di María found the net but the contest ended on a sour note when Neymar was stretchered off after uncomfortably rolling his ankle, much to PSG’s worry.

Marquinhos did end the day on a better note though when he found the net for the second time in injury time to wrap up the points.

The leaders move 14 points clear with the win, while Saint-Étienne remain bottom of the table.
