Expansion club San Diego FC and legendary Spanish defender Sergio Ramos are in ‘advanced’ talks over a move to MLS, according to the Athletic.
No deal is said to be agreed yet, but Ramos is ‘expected’ to sign as a designated player should the two parties come to terms.
Ramos will be a free agent this summer when his contract with Sevilla expires and he is said to not be keen on renewing his agreement.
The 38-year-old won four UEFA Champions League trophies with Real Madrid as well as five LaLiga titles, plus two Ligue 1 titles with PSG.
San Diego are set to begin playing in MLS at the start of the 2025 season.
