Barcelona is unlikely to be the only club of Sergio Busquets’ decorated career, the midfielder has admitted.
The 30-year-old has been with the Blaugrana for 14 years, joining as a teenager in 2005.
But he revealed that he isn’t planning to end his career there and is eyeing a potential MLS move some day.
“I’ve always said that I won’t be a player who is happy with a secondary role at Barça,” he told Sports Illustrated.
“When I feel my ambition is waning or I can’t do what I’m asked to, I’ll step aside and be happy with what I gave the club.
“Obviously you can’t predict the future but I’m a fan of the United States and football is growing there.
“The style is very competitive and the playoff format is different than we’re used to so that really attracts me.”
Busquets has won every domestic honour available to him during his time at the Camp Nou.
