Sergio Busquets has reportedly asked Barcelona for a pay rise, or has warned the club that they risk losing him in the summer.
The 29-year-old signed a new deal with the Blaugrana towards the end of 2016 that saw him become one of their best-paid players.
That deal took his wages to €14m per season, extended his stay until 2021 and saw the minimum release clause upped to €200m.
However, a story in Catalan daily Sport on Sunday has claimed that the Spain international has personally told president Josep Maria Bartomeu that he wants a pay rise.
They believe that not only has Busquets demanded more money, but that the player has warned that he “has a long list of clubs” that would be willing to sign him if they didn’t.
Sport say that Barça will refuse the demand from their Masia graduate as money is particularly tight at Camp Nou right now.
The Liga champions have recently broken the bank to tie Lionel Messi down to a new deal, and will have to sell to buy in this window.
