If you watched last year’s ‘All or Nothing: Manchester City’ documentary, you’ll probably remember the bit where Sergio AgĂŒero revealed he spends most his free time watching movies alone in his home cinema.

But though AgĂŒero famously has a Lord of the Rings tattoo on his right forearm, the Argentine hit-man says he has never actually seen any of the Lord of the Rings films.

The 30-year-old was named City’s player of the month for January and to celebrate, he sat down and answered some questions from supporters, one of which related to his Elvish tattoo.

“Yes I got the tattoo in Elvish from Lord of the Rings, but funnily enough I haven’t watched the movie,” he said.

“I just did it because I liked it and they told me it was from the movie.

“So I did it. But I’ve never watched the film, it might mean anything. But I don’t know.”

The prolific striker has now netted 23 goals in 30 games in all competitions so far this season, and he may get the chance to add to that tally when City travel to face League Two Newport County in the FA Cup on Saturday evening.

And in true AgĂŒero style, it seems he spent Valentine’s Day at home alone on Thursday.

Maybe he finally got around to tackling that Lord of the Rings box-set.
