The Argentina and Manchester City star has been taken to the hospital after collapsing in the dressing room at half-time during Argentina’s friendly defeat against Nigeria in Russia.
Sergio Agüero was reportedly rushed to the hospital after fainting in the changing rooms during Argentina’s 4-2 defeat to Nigeria on Tuesday night.
The 29-year-old striker scored his 36th international goal in the 36th minute, but failed to come out for the second-half of the match – and was replaced by Darío Benedetto.
According to Argentinian media outlet Varsky Sports, Agüero was taken to the hospital for immediate check-up. Reports say that the striker felt lightheaded and fainted due to exhaustion, but that has yet to be confirmed.
Their tweet reads: ‘Kun Agüero fainted in the dressing room and was taken to a nearby hospital for a general checkup’.
The Manchester City striker is due to face Leicester away at King Power Stadium on Saturday.
