Sergi Darder is set to become a new Mallorca player, according to Mundo Deportivo. Espanyol reached an agreement in principle with Mallorca for the transfer of the midfielder on Thursday.
Mallorca will play €8m plus €2m in variables, as reported by UH Mallorca. Darder’s wish was to join Javier Aguirre’s side after Espanyol were relegated to Spain’s Segunda División.
Darder scored six goals and registered four assists in La Liga in 2022-23 and had interest from Almeria and Celta Vigo, but it now appears that Mallorca have won the race for the 29-year-old midfielder.
MD claim that Darder will sign for five seasons, until June 30, 2028, and will have a termination clause of €15m, the same as the one he had at Espanyol.
