Sergej Milinković-Savić’s agent will meet with Florentino Perez next week to discuss a possible move to Real Madrid.
The Serbia international was widely seen as one of the stand-out midfielders in Serie A last season, scoring 14 and assisting a further nine goals in all competitions for Lazio.
Manchester United were believed to be the front-runners for his signature, however Corriere dello Sport believe that a meeting will take place next week between the Blancos president and the player’s representative.
The Biancocelesti have already placed a €150m price tag on the 23-year-old’s head, but with the reigning European champions now having announced their new boss Julen Lopetegui, the club will proceed with a bid.
Milinković-Savić himself will be part of Serbia’s team to face Costa Rica in their World Cup opener later on Sunday.
