So far this summer, Bayern Munich have been significantly busy in the transfer market. In signing Michael Olise, João Palhinha, and Hiroki Ito, Der Rekordmeister have looked to add reinforcement across their entire squad.

However, it appears as though the record champions’ summer spending will not be done there. In recent weeks, Bayern have been linked with the likes of Dani Olmo, Xavi Simons, and Désiré Doué, the latter of whom Bayern are in the centre of a transfer saga with alongside PSG.

It is understood that Bayern are looking to recruit at least two more attacking players during this transfer window, leaving room for a possible departure. It has, therefore, been reported that Serge Gnabry is a potential candidate to be sold this summer, amid interest from a number of clubs, such as Newcastle United.

Regardless, speaking to the Süddeutsche Zeitung, the former Arsenal winger stated his frustration about being linked with a move away: “To be honest, I find it a bit crazy how wildly people are speculating back and forth, not only about my name but also about the names of my teammates. Especially since we all have valid contracts and are still playing football at the highest level.”

As well as this, the 29-year-old insisted that he never hinted that he “wanted to leave” and is instead looking to “get back into shape and perform as people are used to from me. I want to stay healthy and attack again. I believe in myself and know what I can give the team.”

Having signed Olise from Crystal Palace, there are questions surrounding whether Gnabry will be able to get back into Bayern’s starting XI. Nevertheless, the German winger explained that he is not phased by the challenge ahead next season.

“I have been playing professional football for over ten years; I know what it’s like. New players are brought in every year; that’s just the way it is. We all know what to do in a situation like this; it’s about not worrying too much about it and concentrating on ourselves.”
