With the World Cup underway, and Italy not being involved, the media has focused a lot on the upcoming January transfer window. AC Milan might make some signings, but Luca Serafini believes fans should be patient regardless.

The Rossoneri are currently eight points behind Napolin the Scudetto race and will be looking to catch up with the Partenopei after the World Cup break. A couple of reinforcements might be needed, therefore, but it’s not a must.

In his latest editorial for MilanNews, Luca Serafini has pointed out that Milan have a lot of good players in their squad that are yet to break out. Not everything should be about the potential new signings, therefore, he argues.

A year ago many Rossoneri fans ripped their clothes due to the lack of a defensive signing, but it led to the breakout of Kalulu. Today, having never lived with obsessions but rather dreams and hopes, I trust the gradual affirmation of the summer signings, who many have already rejected.

“We have seen great glimpses of Dest at the World Cup, in Thiaw, Vranckx and – before throwing him overboard – De Ketelaere. Pioli will continue to water in the Milanello greenhouse: if they are roses, they will flourish. And if in the meantime some other opportunities arise, they are welcome,” he stated.

Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara’s strategy last winter was obviously a bit risky but it worked out in their favour. Belief in the current squad is key and it remains to be seen who will step up this time (Vranckx and CDK come to mind).
