Inter are without both Stefano Sensi and Davide Frattesi for the trip to Roma, leaving Simone Inzaghi short-staffed in midfield.

It kicks off on Saturday at 17.00 GMT at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome.

Frattesi was already ruled out by a muscular injury, while Juan Cuadrado is a long-term absentee after Achilles tendon surgery.

According to Sky Sport Italia, Sensi also did not make the journey to the Eternal City this afternoon, as he is suffering from flu symptoms.

It was meant to be his return to the squad after the failed transfer to Leicester City, with Turkish and Saudi Arabian options also seemingly abandoned.

This leaves Davy Klaassen as the only alternative midfielder for Inzaghi to have off the bench, as Hakan Calhanoglu, Nicolò Barella and Henrikh Mkhitaryan are set to start.

Sensi has made only four competitive appearances for Inter this season for a grand total of 65 minutes of football on the pitch.

His contract is due to expire on June 30 and he now seems set to leave as a free agent over the summer.
