The youngster had come through the Liverpool academy as a central midfielder but has found significant joy playing on the wing this season.

In the U18 Premier League, he has scored 11 goals and provided four assists, as well as netting in the FA Youth Cup in a 3-0 win over Fulham.

The Northern Ireland youth international joined Liverpool from Manchester United's U14s and it appears that the Reds have pulled a number on their fierce rivals by securing his signature.

Liverpool's exciting academy talents have shone in the first team this season, most notably in the Carabao Cup final, and Morrison will be hopeful of making an impression on the senior squad as soon as possible after signing his first pro deal.

AN IMPORTANT PRE-SEASON FOR KIERAN MORRISON

Having just penned his first deal with the Reds, Morrison will already have one eye on how he can work his way into the first team.

With Jurgen Klopp leaving the club and Arne Slot set to take his place, pre-season could offer Morrison the perfect chance to make a positive first impression on Liverpool's next coach.

The likes of Jarell Quansah, Bobby Clark and James McConnell were among the relatively unknown Liverpool youngsters who impressed in 2023/24 pre-season, with all three having gone on to play significant roles for the Reds this term.

They will be huge motivations to Morrison, who will be hopeful of shining this summer.
