See – Brighton fan paints mural of De Zerbi: ‘There is a god of football’

A mural of coach Roberto De Zerbi was painted on a wall in the Brighton city centre, calling him ‘a god of football’.

The 44-year-old Italian coach’s electric brand of attacking football has enamoured him to the Seagulls faithful over the last 18 months, instantly making him a fan favourite. His work has already attracted attention from top clubs across the continent, including Barcelona, Liverpool and Milan.

Brighton fan and artist Guy Favela decided to pay tribute to De Zerbi by painting a mural of the Italian tactician in the city centre, writing: “There is a god of football.”

The phrase was uttered by De Zerbi after Brighton’s crucial Premier League win over Manchester United last season, a result that took the club to Europe for the first time in their history.
