Manchester City have finalised all various documentation and medical testing around their second arrival of the ongoing January transfer window.

That finalised deal follows the arrival of Abdukodir Khusanov from RC Lens as Manchester City moved quickly to defeat tentative competitive interest from the likes of Newcastle United, Tottenham Hotspur and Real Madrid.

Sanctioning a blockbuster €40 million agreement with the French club, Khusanov jetted in from Paris late last week and took part in his first training session post-medical and media duties on Saturday, according to reports.

The Uzbek international will not be waiting long before he is joined by another fellow new face in Guardiola’s first-team squad, as all the various details of Manchester City’s second signing of the ongoing January market have now been completed.

That is according to the information of transfer market insider Fabrizio Romano, who reveals that Manchester City have now sealed a deal for Palmeiras centre-back, Vitor Reis with all contracts signed between the two clubs involved.

As for the 19-year-old himself, it is confirmed that Reis has now also signed his Manchester City contract after completing a medical in recent hours/days without any issue, leaving only an official announcement to be released which should arrive ‘later this week’.

City and Palmeiras are understood to have struck an agreement for the player in the region of £30 million, and despite the Brazilian club’s best effort to retain the teenager until after the summer’s FIFA Club World Cup in the United States, the switch will take place now.

Manchester City have sweetened the deal by including one favourable clause for Palmeiras, with Brazilian media reporting that should the Premier League champions sell Reis in future for more than €60 million, then Verdão will automatically receive an extra €5 million.

Palmeiras’ manager, Abel Ferreira admitted during a recent press conference that the sale of Reis to City may have been his own personal fault, having openly discussed the player’s exceptional talents with the Etihad Stadium’s incoming Director of Football, Hugo Viana.

“Maybe we sold Vitor because I talked too much with whom I shouldn’t have. It happens,” Ferreira said, in reference to his close friend, Viana.

“When you talk to other clubs’ sporting directors about your squad, players, and they believe a lot in what you say, that was it; a good afternoon, well said conversations, and you end up selling a player like that,” he continued.

“But he deserves it, a lad who has it all; technical, tactical, physical, mental. A boy with values. I told this to our president: ‘On one hand I’m sad as the manager, on the other I recognise we can’t refuse such an offer. I also value the work from everyone within our training ground.”
