Ajax’s 2021-22 UEFA Champions League campaign couldn’t have gotten off to a better start on Wednesday night.

The Dutch giants took a 1-0 lead over Sporting thanks to red alert forward Sébastien Haller just 68 seconds into the match.

Not long after, the 27-year-old doubled their lead in the ninth minute making some significant Champions League history in the process.

His quick-fire double has been recorded as the fastest brace in the history of the competition.

And, if the night wasn’t already a memorable one for Haller, he later went on to bring his tally to four goals on his competition debut.

What a signing the Ivory Coast international has been for Ajax manager Erik ten Hag.
