América’s Liguilla journey will start on Thursday night but they will be without the services of one of their star players.
Unfortunately for Santiago Solari and the rest of the Eagles squad, Sebastian Córdova has been ruled out of their first-leg clash away at Pachuca.
That’s according to journalist Víctor Díaz, who claimed through his Twitter account that the 23-year-old is still in extreme discomfort after being on the wrong end of a stomp against Olimpia.
However, the midfielder could be available for Sunday’s match at the Estadio Azteca, though it’s widely believed that he will have little chance of starting the crunch clash.
Since the incident against the Honduran giants in Concacaf Champions League action, Córdova has missed five consecutive games.
In those five matches, América have earned two wins and two draws while also suffering a 3-1 defeat against Toluca.
