At just 20 years old, Uruguayan defender Sebastián Cáceres still has a very long career ahead of him.
After a very impressive career in Uruguay, Cáceres made the surprising jump to Club América for a fee of about $2.5m.
Due to his participation in the CONMEBOL Pre-Olympic Tournament with the Uruguay U-23s and a knee injury, his involvement with América has been limited to a 38-minute cameo against Rayados.
The player came to América with high expectations to perform and Cáceres believes he will be able to use his time in Mexico to elevate his game to the European level.
He told TUDN: “Without a doubt, Club América are the largest club in Mexico and the best springboard to jump into football in Europe.”
It’s expected that when Liga MX comes back that he will find himself a place in the América starting XI quite soon.
