Formerly the youngest coach in the league when he took over at SRFC in December 2018 to succeed Sabri Lamouchi (38 at the time), Julien Stéphan - who has since surpassed the 160 game-mark on a Ligue 1 Uber Eats bench, including 110 with Les Rouge et Noir -  remains in the top five.

The youngest coaches - by some distance - are Will Still (Stade de Reims, 31) and two newcomers this season: Francesco Farioli (Nice) and Carles Martinez Novell (Toulouse).

Outnumbered by foreign coaches in the top flight, there are currently eight French coaches in Ligue 1 Uber Eats. And with the arrival of Julien Stéphan, Pierre Aristouy (FC Nantes) hands over his position as the youngest French coach in 2023-24 to the 2019 Coupe de France winner - who is just under nine months his junior.
