Everton boss Sean Dyche has refused to put a timeline on Dele Alli’s return to action.
The midfielder has been out injured since returning from an unsuccessful loan spell at Beşiktaş, and underwent groin surgery at the end of January.
When asked by Sky Sports about the 27-year-old’s return the former Burnley boss remained tight-lipped on the situation.
“We’ll see. There’s a long way to go,” said Dyche.
“We’ve deliberately kept him back, we agreed with him to give him time and space.
“Hopefully he’ll be back, we just don’t know.”
Alli last featured for Everton in a 2-1 reversal to Aston Villa at the beginning of the previous season.
