Scott McTominay has decided to play for the Scottish national team at international level, according to The Times.
The Manchester United midfielder had the option to pledge his international future to England. McTominay was actually born in Lancaster but had already expressed his desire to play for Scotland in the past.
Scottish boss Alex McLeish met with McTominay last Thursday and the 21-year-old midfielder is now fully committed to represent his grandparent’s homeland.
Gary Southgate was hopeful that the promising footballer would represent the 1966 World Cup champions and went on to visit him on Friday. But his efforts weren’t enough to persuade him to represent the Three Lions.
