Scotland face Hungary this evening in their final group game of Euro 2024. It is a must win for Steve Clarke and his side as they look to make history by sealing their place in the knockout phase of the tournament.

Scotland lost their opening game against Germany in fairly dismal style but responded with a draw against a decent Swiss team on Wednesday. This tees the Scots up for the must win against Hungary.

Team News

Clarke is known for keeping things the same and, despite the need for three points, he will likely refrain from making too many changes to the team that drew in Cologne.

Celtic’s Tony Ralston copped some flak from supporters and pundits after his slack back pass resulted in Shaqiri blasting an incredible equaliser beyond Angus Gunn. However, the manager will likely stick with the bricky as he will look to redeem himself with a display at RWB. Expect the defender to remain the same with Scott McKenna coming in to replace the injured Kieran Tierney, who suffered a hamstring injury against the Swiss.

In midfield, Scotland benefitted from Callum McGregor partnering with Billy Gilmour in the centre of the park, which meant that they could control the tempo of the game and protect the back three.

Scott McTominay and John McGinn will play further forward, offering added firepower behind Che Adams, who has tirelessly led the line for Scotland.
