Scotland manager Steve Clarke praises fans as his team secures Euro 2024 qualification | OneFootball

Scotland manager Steve Clarke has successfully led his team to its fourth-ever European Championship. After winning five out of six games in the qualifying stages, Scotland needed Spain to beat Norway to secure its qualification. On October 15th, that is what happened when the Spanish side secured a 1-0 victory over Norway at the Ulleval Stadion in Oslo, Norway.

With this victory, not only did Spain ensure their qualification, but also earned Scotland’s place in the Euros 2024. After qualifying for the tournament, Scotland manager Steve Clarke hailed his team and backroom staff for their performances in the qualifiers. He also lauded fans for helping Scotland to become feared again. Clarke said:

“I would like to congratulate the players in qualifying for back-to-back tournaments,” said Clarke. I would also like to thank my backroom team for their support and, of course, the fans who have packed Hampden Park to capacity and made it a place to be feared once again. They have played a key part in our success, both home and away, and they can now look forward to making their plans for Germany – although I suspect many had done so before tonight.”

The manager further stated that he and his team would celebrate the qualification but soon return to work for their next game against France. He also spoke about Scotland’s performance in Euros 2020 and said it would be important to build on their last experience. The 60-year-old concluded his interaction with the media by saying he looks forward to seeing Scottish fans in Germany next year.
