Revenge in sights at first trip to stadium

In September 2023 we saw against the newly promoted side from Linz that no opponents can be taken lightly in the ADMIRAL Bundesliga. The 0-1 defeat against the Upper Austrians ended our run of 45 unbeaten Bundesliga home matches in a row.

That has made our desire for revenge when we visit FC Blau-Weiß Linz even greater - and we need three points, after all, to stay in front of the rest of the pack.

The restart to the Austrian Bundesliga has gone similarly for Gerald Scheiblehner's side as it has for us. Just as we shared the spoils with SK Sturm Graz, the side from Linz were long leading away at SCR Altach only to concede a late goal and be held to a 1-1 draw.

While the Linz side are no longer able to seal a spot in the championship group, Ronivaldo & Co have shown that they are a force in the Bundesliga in the spring too in their first season after a solid autumn.

All new in Linz

We were already able to enjoy a successful first trip to a stadium in Linz this season, with a 2-0 victory in our first appearance at LASK's Raiffeisen Arena. We have our sights set on a similar success at the Blue and Whites' Hofmann Personal Stadion.

For us, it's about building on the strong performance from our last home match against Sturm in Linz, in order to get our reward at the end. We saw in our first clash against Blau-Weiß Linz just how dangerous they can be. We know that they are really strong defensively, especially at home, and they don't concede many goals. We want to use our chances and finish coolly.

Gerhard Struber

We have a score to settle against Blau-Weiß Linz. We want our revenge for the defeat in Salzburg and to get three points to take home. They are playing a really good season for a newly promoted side, and are very compact in defence, above all. The match on Saturday will definitely not be any easier than the first clash at our place.
