Schedule for Celtic in Japan as team arrive in Yokohama

Celtic are in Japan for the next leg of the 2023/24 pre-season, with two exciting matches on the horizon for Brendan Rodgers' team.

After a successful week of warm-weather training, the warm-up games will now intensify as the Hoops get set to take on J.League sides Yokohama F. Marinos and Gamba Osaka.

It’s the first time Celtic has been in Japan since 2006 and it’s a return home for Reo Hatate, Kyogo Furuhaahi and Yuki Kobayashi, while it's an opportunity for Daizen Maeda and Tomoki Iwata to face their former side.

As the team arrived on Monday evening local time, the squad will train at the Nissan Stadium on Tuesday evening, the home of Yokohama F. Marinos.

That will also be the venue for Wednesday's first match in Japan, as the Celts take on Kevin Muscat's Marinos at 7pm local time (11am Celtic Park time), with the game signalling a return to their former club for Maeda and Iwata.

From there, the team will take the famous bullet train, travelling at speeds of 200mph from Yokohama and heading west to the city of Osaka.

It's there that the team will again train, this time at the Panasonic Stadium on Friday night, before returning 24 hours later for their final match against Gamba Osaka (11am Celtic Park time), which you can watch exclusively live on Celtic TV.

After completing the final match, the squad will head back to Yokohama where they will spend the night before travelling back to Scotland to continue training for the upcoming league campaign.
