Ouest-France are reporting that Schalke 04 midfielder Florent Mollet (31) will join FC Nantes as early as next Tuesday. The Loire-Atlantique outfit, currently fourteenth in the Ligue 1 standings, are reportedly set to sign Mollet for a €1.5m fee.

The former Montpellier man joined the newly-promoted Bundesliga side last summer on a three-year deal. Mollet played only nine games and scored one goal for the bottom-placed Gelsenkirchen side. In Ligue 1, Mollet played 173 games and registered 28 goals and 18 assists in the six seasons that he played with FC Metz (2016-2018) and Montpellier (2018-2022). He should have the opportunity to play European football for the first time with Nantes playing Juventus next month in a mouth-watering Europa League play-off.

Les Canaris, Ouest-France added that no agreement has been reached yet between Nantes and Nice for the signing of striker Andy Delort (31), but proceedings are reportedly progressing well. Finally, Nantes winger Kader Bamba (28) is expected to join struggling Ligue 2 side Saint-Etienne on a loan with no option to buy.
