Savage heaps praise on McNeill after Man Utd debut

Manchester United youth star Charlie McNeill became the latest youngster to earn praise after making his senior debut.

The young forward came on for the last five minutes against Real Sociedad at Old Trafford in the Europa League group stages on Thursday.

While United lost the game 1-0 through a dubious penalty decision to the Spanish side, pundit Robbie Savage had many good things to say about McNeill.

Speaking on commentary, Savage Snr, whose son Charlie is also a United youth star, said: "It's brilliant to see young Charlie McNeill making his debut for the first-team.

"He's scored lots of goals in the youth academy.

"He's a great lad, so (I'm) delighted for Charlie and his family that he's made his first-team debut. I know exactly how his family will be feeling, they'll be so proud."
