The Saudi Pro League is confident about signing Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski next year (h/t Diario Sport).

The 36-year-old has improved with age, displaying a high level of scoring consistency to fortify his status as one of the best strikers of all time.

Since his move from Bayern Munich in 2022, Lewandowski has bagged 101 goals and 20 assists in 149 appearances for the Catalan giants.

He hit new levels under manager Hansi Flick last season, scoring 42 goals in 52 games to inspire the Blaugrana to a domestic treble.

Lewandowski has shown that he has plenty of gas left in the tank, but Barca have a decision to make with his contract expiring at the end of next season.

Several factors will be considered, such as his physical fitness to thrive in Flick’s demanding system, if Barca are to prolong his stay.

SPL bosses believe the Polish international will join one of their top clubs next summer.

However, Lewandowski remains Barca’s first-choice centre-forward heading into next season.

They are unlikely to invest in a new striker this summer due to the presence of Ferran Torres, who performed brilliantly during Lewandowski’s absence last term.

Fermin Lopez has also attracted interest from Saudi Arabia, but the midfielder has no intention of leaving Barcelona.

The Catalans are accelerating their efforts to sign Athletic Bilbao winger Nico Williams, having agreed personal terms with the Spaniard.
