Saudi giants pushing to reunite Karim Benzema with key Real Madrid star | OneFootball

A leading member of the defensive ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid is the subject of fresh interest by way of the Saudi Pro League.

That’s according to El Chiringuito TV, who point towards Antonio Rüdiger as the player in question.

Stopper Rüdiger is for his part of course fresh off a stellar individual campaign in Spain’s capital.

Continuing to act as an absolutely pivotal member of Carlo Ancelotti’s backline, the German international further established himself in the conversation for world football’s best in his role.

And yet, as alluded to above, on Wednesday, Rüdiger has been linked with a move away from the Santiago Bernabéu.

As per a report from El Chiringuito TV’s Marcos Benito, the former Chelsea standout is the subject of fresh, and altogether intense interest on the part of Saudi giants Al-Ittihad.

The Jeddah-based outfit already have one Real Madrid icon on their books, in the form of Karim Benzema.

And it is now understood that they are desperate to bring in another, offering a contract worth a hefty €12 million+ to Rüdiger.

In all reality, however, a transfer for the 31-year-old this summer is extremely unlikely, owing to the lack of depth at centre-back in Real Madrid’s squad.
