Sassuolo Coach Alessio Dionisi: “Give Inter-Linked Striker Giacomo Raspadori Time To Grow” | OneFootball

Sassuolo head coach Alessio Dionisi feels that the most important thing for Inter target Giacomo Raspadori is to have time and space in which to develop.

Speaking in a press conference ahead of the Neroverdi’s clash with Spezia, as reported by FCInter1908, the Italian tactician emphasized the importance of not scrutinizing the 21-year-old too much even with high expectations that he has created.

Raspadori has looked to have been one of the most impressive young strikers in Serie A with his performances since the beginning of last season.

The 21-year-old’s form has marked him out as a long-term target for Inter, though they will be closely watching his development in Emilia-Romagna.

For Dionisi, however, the player is still young and continually growing and proving himself, so it is best not to let expectations get out of hand and put undue pressure on the young striker as far as his performances this campaign.

He explained that “If we look at his numbers they are below the expectations he has created for himself.”

“He comes off of a season where he has done well,” he added, “he is one third of the way through and will do well I’m sure.”

The coach went on that “He has made himself available in different roles, he can cover a few positions. His numbers are below the expectations others have, but he has not been below the expectations that I have.”

“There are many expectations for him,” he emphasized, “but you have to give time, he is showing good performances.”
