Sassuolo CEO Giovanni Carnevali: “Not Giving AC Milan An Easy Ride To The Serie A Title” | OneFootball

Sassuolo CEO Giovanni Carnevali believes that his team will not be giving AC Milan a straightforward match to secure the Serie A title on Sunday.

Speaking to Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport in an interview published in today’s print edition, Carnevali vowed that the Neroverdi will give their all to try and beat Milan, and also updated on the situation of striker Gianluca Scamacca.

The Rossoneri can afford a draw against Sassuolo on the final day and be mathematically guaranteed of the title given their head-to-head advantage over Inter, while they will be hoping to seal the Scudetto with a victory.

However, in the event that Milan slip up and lose their final match of the season, the Nerazzurri can overtake them at the top if they are to beat Sampdoria.

Carnevali was clear that his team will be pushing for the result and that they have the quality to shock the league leaders and do Inter a massive favour.

To tell you the truth this season we also achieved excellent results against Inter and Juventus,” he pointed. “Milan are right to think about possible celebrations because they can win it with either a win or a draw.”

“Having said that, we have a duty to finish our season in the best way possible,” he added. “We won’t give anything away, to be clear.”

And of reported Inter target Scamacca, Carnevali said that “Few players in Europe have his characteristics, he is a great prospect.”

“The Nerazzurri are as interested in him as other teams,” he admitted, “but economically Italian football is not going through a period of prosperity.”

“I would like for him to stay in Serie A to give more value to the national team but I fear that he has more of a market abroad,” he added.
