Sassuolo CEO Giovanni Carnevali: “Inter Targets Scamacca & Raspadori Will Remain In January, Juventus Lucky To Draw At San Siro”

Sassuolo CEO Giovanni Carnevali has made clear that he does not expect either of Inter-linked strikers Gianluca Scamacca and Giacomo Raspadori to depart from the Neroverdi in January.

Speaking to Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport in an interview published in today’s print edition, the Neroverdi executive affirmed the club’s commitment to holding onto the players until the end of the season at least, while he also weighed in on the Nerazzurri’s draw with Juventus on Sunday.

Scamacca and Raspadori are both long-term targets for the Nerazzurri, having been extensively linked to the club in the summer before they moved onto other targets.

Inter have not lost interest in the young pair, however, and reportedly could look to swoop for one of them as early as the January transfer window.

However, Carnevali made clear that neither of the players are seen as being for sale by the club in January.

“It’s true, I talked about both with [Inter CEO Beppe] Marotta,” he stated. “With [Juventus Director of Football] Cherubini no, at least for now. They certainly won’t move in January. We’ll see in the summer. The principle is the same: we are ready to sell our jewels to the big clubs, but only if the offers are satisfactory.”

He also gave his thoughts on the ending to the clash between Inter and the Bianconeri on Sunday, stating “What did I think about the penalty? That they were lucky. Even if, to be honest, they deserved it in the second half. Let’s hope Juventus have run out of luck at San Siro.”
