Fulham have announced the signing of Torino midfielder Sasa Lukic for an undisclosed fee believed to be around £10 million.

The Serbia international joins the Cottagers on a four-and-a-half-year deal with a club option to extend his stay by a further 12 months.

Lukic was a regular for the Serie A side, making 19 appearances across all competitions and recording three goals and an assist before completing his move to west London.

The 26-year-old becomes the first addition for Fulham this month as they look to further their push for a place in Europe next season.

“I’m very happy to have signed, and to now be a part of Fulham’s squad,” Lukic said.

“I can’t wait to get started and meet with the Head Coach, the players, and the staff, and I’m looking forward to training with them when I arrive in England.

“I’ve seen Fulham play this season, and they’ve been playing very well. They have a good squad, with a great history.

“A lot of great players have played for the Club in its history, and they have a lot of great players currently, like my compatriot Aleksandar Mitrović.”

Fulham manager Marco Silva has been eager to bolster his squad in the midfield areas, and Lukic will provide competition for the likes of Andreas Pereira and Joao Palhinha.

Meanwhile, The Athletic reporter David Ornstein has confirmed that Fulham have also completed a move for Arsenal right-back Cedric Soares.

The deal hinged on Fulham converting one of their loan departures into a permanent one, and it is understood that it would be Shane Duffy, who is currently on loan at Brighton & Hove Albion.

The Portuguese defender has been on the fringes at the Emirates Stadium this season, with Takehiro Tomiyasu and Ben White firmly ahead of him in the pecking order.

The former Southampton man has managed just four appearances this term. He is now one step away from a move away from the Emirates for a chance to get regular first-team minutes.

The 31-year-old will spend the remainder of the season at Craven Cottage providing competition for first-choice right-back Kenny Tete.
