Letícia Santos and Brazil had a flawless tournament in Colombia as the South Americans won the Copa América for an eighth time.

Brazil won the Copa América for an eighth time after recording six wins from as many matches without conceding a single goal. They beat host nation Colombia 1-0 in the final at the Stadion Alfonso López in Bucaramanga. Eintracht defender Letícia Santos, who did not feature in the final, said: “I’m really happy to be part of this title. The feeling of winning something for your country and going down in history is something I’ve dreamed about and now it’s become a reality. After the game we celebrated a lot together with Brazilian music. We worked very hard together and our great strength was our team spirit, both on and off the pitch. Everybody ran for everyone else and we played some great games together.”
