Jesús Ocejo should have given the hosts the lead five minutes before the break.

Chivas goalkeeper Antonio Rodríguez did well initially to parry Fernando Gorriarán’s effort from distance, but Ocejo skied the rebound when it looked easier to score.

The Flock exerted increasing pressure after the interval, but Santos captain Carlos Acevedo was in fabulous form and denied the visitors with a string of excellent saves.

The draw keeps Los Guerreros unbeaten after four games, but with one win and three draws they are just ninth in the Apertura table.

Chivas are one point and one place behind, as the sluggish start to the season continues for Los Rojiblancos.
