América are atop the Liga MX table heading into their huge Clásico Nacional showdown on Saturday against rivals Chivas.
Though Eagles supporters must be excited over the strong form they’ve shown under Santiago Solari since the Eagles hierarchy brought him in, not everyone is a fan of their attack-first playing style.
In an interview for Fox Sports, Solari was questioned about whether he was hired in any way to give results while making the Eagles play in a more attractive way.
“Do you like it? These are personal questions, for your personal taste, for your colours.
“We would love to score ten goals every week but it is not always possible to score. Even the great teams in the rest of the world cannot score week after week.”
The criticism is particularly strange since América boasts the second-best defence in Liga MX while they are tied for fifth in terms of total goals scored.
