América boss Santiago Solari has acknowledged and given deep appreciation to the effort that Nicolás Castillo has made on and off the pitch after suffering from a life-threatening thrombosis in his right leg.

Despite not being registered for the 2021 Guard1anes tournament, Solari is committed to allowing Castillo to get himself back to par and to make his full return to the pitch next season.

“His dream is to play again and overcome. We will all support him, and due to a medical issue, he has not recovered, and it will take a while, so we will support him.”

” He wants to play and we will support him and more. I was a player and I know what it is to be injured and we will take care of him with all the affection.”

The Chilean international has only featured 27 times since his arrival, contributing nine goals and three assists to the cause. Castillo is under contract until summer 2022.
