Santiago Solari has said Vinícius Júnior will get Real Madrid opportunities but insists the teenager still needs time to mature.
Vinícius – a €45m signing from Brasileirão side Flamengo – is already generating buzz at the Santiago Bernabéu after impressing in his three substitute appearances this season.
There are calls for the 18-year-old to start against Viktoria Plzeň on Wednesday but Solari has called for patience as he continues his development.
“We’re all excited,” he told reporters during his pre-match news conference. “He’s very young and has his whole future ahead.
“He will be a complete footballer in the future and when a player is ready, he will play. It doesn’t matter about the manager, no one can hold back the talent.
“But we have to take it slowly. He has a lot of things to learn, of course, but he also has ability you cannot teach. He is raw and his football transmits happiness.”
Los Blancos sit first in their Champions League group, but still have work to do if they want to progress after their disappointing 1-0 defeat to CSKA last time out.
