América boss Santiago Solari believes his side are at a critical disadvantage due to having so many players involved during the October Fifa international date.
The Eagles have a trio of important Liga MX showdowns within the next week before they head to Monterrey for their defining Concacaf Champions League final.
“The calendar is very tough, for teams in two or more competitions even more so,” he said in his pre-match press conference.
“Roger [Martínez], Richard [Sánchez], and [Pedro] Aquino have not yet arrived. They were headliners and we will evaluate their condition when they get here, hoping that they are as good as possible.
“It is difficult to maintain the intensity because all of our opponents will give us a complicated time.
“There are moments that we can relax and others that are difficult. When we have both the league and Concacaf Champions League final to deal with and all the national teams come together, it’s tough.
“It’s tough especially when we have to contribute a number of key players and we contributed nine this month.
“At the end of the season, after all of the regular-season games are complete, we will compete to win the title and showcase all the hard work we’ve done all year.”
América will face a much-improved Atlético San Luis on Saturday, a team that are currently in seventh place.
