Club América youngster Santiago Naveda is leaving the LigaMX and heading to Europe to ply his trade in Poland.
The move was announced on earlier this week with TUDN reporting that it was a lack of playing time that led to Naveda making the decision to leave Los Azul-Cremas – which has now be confirmed by the player.
“The truth is my decision to go to Poland was influenced by the fact that I was no longer playing in the first-team as much as I wanted,” explained the 21-year-old.
“I wasn’t even travelling to friendlies, so that influenced my decision a lot. When it came to seeing what team was the best option for me, Poland stood out and excited me the most.
“In Europe, you compete with all different kinds of teams, with different types of teammates and I think that’s going to help me grow as both a footballer and a person.”
Naveda is set to join Miedź Legnica who recently won promotion to Poland’s top division the Ekstraklasa.
