Santiago Bernabéu documentary on Disney+ set to showcase Real Madrid’s world-class stadium | OneFootball

Real Madrid seem to be one of the hottest topics for the creators of sports documentaries at the moment. Following on from the news yesterday that Vinícius Jr. is getting his own documentary on Netflix, today we find out that Disney+ is set to host a documentary about the Santiago Bernabéu.

The documentary, which will be titled ‘Megastructures: the Bernabéu of the 21st Century’ will premiere on Disney+ in partnership with National Geographic on the 4th of December.

The documentary is part of the long-running ‘Megastructures’ series, which documents architectural and construction marvels, showcasing the pinnacle of human engineering.

The show will cover the recent renovations which took place on the Bernabéu stadium, which modernised it and took it into the 21st Century and saw it’s capacity increase from 81,000 to 85,000.

There will also be a look at how the project managed to overcome setbacks such as the COVID-19 pandemic whilst still managing to ensure the project is a success.

The show is likely to be a must-watch for both football fans as well as those who have a broader interest in architecture and construction.
