Leroy Sané is in danger of missing the Bundesliga match against Heidenheim. The first leg of the Champions League quarter-final against FC Arsenal could also be in jeopardy.

Leroy Sané is in danger of missing FC Bayern’s game at 1. FC Heidenheim on Saturday. According to BILD, the winger had to train individually again on Wednesday. According to the report, the 28-year-old was only able to do a few running laps before leaving the training pitch after a good quarter of an hour. Based on Wednesday’s impressions, it is therefore unlikely that Sané will be able to play in Heidenheim.

The aim now is to get Sané fit for the Champions League match at FC Arsenal on Tuesday.

The day before, the attacking midfielder had to cancel the public team training session. He was only able to take part in the ten-minute warm-up programme. However, the club explained that this had been agreed in advance for reasons of load management.

It had actually been expected that Sané would have regained his fitness during the international break, which he had to spend in Munich due to a red ban. However, as became clear in the poor game against BVB at the latest, the Bayern star is in an absolute slump in form. Sané has now gone 23 competitive games without scoring a goal, making it the longest goal drought of his career.

Will Serge Gnabry replace Leroy Sané in the starting eleven?

Alongside youngster Mathys Tel, Serge Gnabry is the most likely candidate to replace Leroy Sané. Following a muscle tendon injury, he scored on his comeback in the home game against Mainz. He also scored after coming on as a substitute in the away win in Darmstadt.

Kingsley Coman, on the other hand, who also only recently returned from a torn medial collateral ligament in his knee, had to end the training session prematurely on Tuesday together with Sané. It is still unclear whether he will be fit for the Heidenheim game.
