Luciano Spalletti has been talking about Sandro Tonali.
The Italian national team boss having selected the Newcastle United midfielder in all four internationals since hi 10 months ban ended.
Italy winning three and drawing the other game, to put them top of their Nations League group.
It actually could and would have been a full 12 points from a possible 12, if not for a red card against Belgium for one of Tonali’s teammates.
Last week’s game saw Sandro Tonali and his international teammates cruising at 2-0 up, until shortly before half-time they were reduced to 10 men. They did well in the end to take a point from a 2-2 draw against Belgium.
Sandro Tonali at the heart of a new exciting era of attacking football for Italy, as they have scored 11 goals in these last four matches, including three in a stunning 3-1 victory in Paris against France.
Radio Rossonera reporting what Italy team boss Lucian Spalletti and journalist Riccardo Trevisani have now said about Sandro Tonali, having witnessed how the Newcastle United star has performed the past seven weeks:
Luciano Spalletti on Sandro Tonali:
“Sandro Tonali is immense for what he is doing.
“It is incredible, the game can last as long as he wants for him.
“He made two runs in the 90th minute [against Israel] with a pace frequency, a strength that is truly incredible.
“When he starts he turns the engine on at a thousand and when he turns it off it goes at a thousand the same.
“Maybe he still has to vent some of the anger from what he has accumulated since last year”.
Riccardo Trevisani on Sandro Tonali:
“In my opinion, it is now a version of Sandro Tonali superior to the year of the scudetto, the one of the Parc des Princes and the one with Israel is superior to that of the last 15 of the championship in the year of the scudetto of Milan.”
High praise indeed from this pair.
The Italian team boss so impressed, especially by the NUFC midfielder’s energy, fitness and desire.
Whilst the Italian journalist believing Sandro Tonali is now looking an even better player than when he helped AC Milan win Serie A in the 2021/22 season.
Exciting times ahead I think for both Newcastle United and Italy, with Sandro Tonali.
